Wash away, the best character
Well, I haven't written anything for a bit. That's because nothing has happened really. To be honest I've pretty much sat at home, fiddling with the script and watching DVDs.
After staying up till 4am playing Xbox with The Troubadour all last week, my body seems to have gotten used to getting up at midday. Who am I to argue?
Following the excellent time in Birmingham, I have been prompted to enter all the competitions on Play and Firebox. Unfortunately, I'm not getting any freakass feelings of certainty this time. The universe has failed to align on this one. Still, I would only sell the stuff on ebay anyway.
So, as I am keeping the script close to my chest until its submission, all I can tell you about is the DVDs I've been watching. Being in Brummieland for a week did mean I had a rather large amount of stuff, laying in wait unwatched. The thing I've been looking forward to most is Serenity. For some reason I don't tend to go to the cinema much any more, so I hadn't seen it yet. It was pretty good, I think I'd probably hyped it too much. The third act was awesome, however. It moved me enough to order the trade paperback of the story between Firefly and the film. I've also got all three series of Scrubs to wade through, plus some Seinfeld and Monk. I've recently watched Napoleon Dynamite. This movie was lauded by pretty much everyone I know so I went ahead and bought it. Now I hate saying this, because it makes me appear a little stupid, but I'm not sure I got it. It just didn't strike me as funny.
I've just discovered Bromwell High. Watch this! This is funny. I actually laughed out. Loud. It's a joint venture between the UK and Canada. I'm loathe to make comparisons with South Park, but it's inevitable. It's about foul mouthed kids and their teachers. They're also well fick, innit? There's plenty of well known Brit voices involved, so be prepared to say "Arrghh, I recognise that one, what's he from?" I'll give you one, Steve Merchant from Extras plays the P.E. teacher.
This is pretty riveting stuff, huh? It's not really a problem as no one really reads this anyway. Awww! I'm not after sympathy really, but don't worry, I'm not going to go on about a tree falling in the woods.
It's funny - I've now got an Xbox 360, but I've hardly played it. I just haven' t been in the mood. Perhaps I'm growing out of it? I doubt it. I always wondered if there would be a point when I would start watching the news and buying papers, and stop playing computer games and reading comics. I'm still waiting though. Hell, I still even buy action figures, although I don't take them out of their wrapping anymore (which always seems a little sad - I meant sad as in boo-hoo, but you may think otherwise).

It's just struck me that the longest post I've ever written was about doing nothing. Curious.
